Features: I was one of the earlier critics to point out errors in Complete Songs of the Song Dynasty. Initially, I had great trust in the scholars' corrections and supplements, but gradually I realized that their work was not entirely satisfactory, and there were many points I could not agree with. Therefore, I continued my work on correcting and supplementing Complete Songs of the Song Dynasty while also naturally thinking about the issues of oversight in the corrections. I believe that since we are correcting and supplementing Complete Songs of the Song Dynasty, the requirements for the quality of the corrections must be stricter. If the correction papers themselves contain many questionable, debatable, or even inaccurate points, the credibility of the corrections will be greatly compromised, and it will be easier to cause confusion in academia. Among the published correction papers, there are indeed many rigorous and realistic works, but errors in corrections are difficult to completely avoid. The corrections to Complete Songs of the Song Dynasty are still in their early stages, and we feel it is necessary to review the previous stage of corrections and point out the existing problems early on, which should be beneficial to the overall correction work in the future. Thus, I collaborated with Mr. Fu for the first time to write a corrective article on the correction papers. Fang's article claims that we "only some problems in the collation and supplementation of the collators and misinterpret them to distort and," which shows that they do not understand the true root of the problem. In the preface to Li Yumin's Supplement to Complete Songs of the Song Dynasty (Part 1), it is well said: "The most labor-intensive part is collation, the most valuable part is also this part, and the most difficult to complete is also this part." The collation of Song poems has high value and difficulty. The work of collation involves many aspects, and various problems such as mis-collation, duplicates, missing texts, missing annotations, inaccuracies, missing checks, and improper tracing of sources may arise during the process. We have focused on the errors in collation as the key point of academic discussion—how could it be "distorted and"? This book is the result of the corrections and collation of Complete Songs of the Song Dynasty. The magnificent 72-volume, 3,785-volume Complete Songs of the Song Dynasty is a poetic anthology of the Song Dynasty that is several times larger than Complete Poems of the Tang Dynasty, and it has had a significant impact on academia both at home and abroad since its publication, becoming an indispensable basic reference material for studying Song poetry and Song Dynasty society. The editors of Complete Songs of the Song Dynasty, such as Chen Xin, organized scholars to thoroughly examine various books and meticulously verify, conducting comprehensive corrections and collation to promote the perfection of Complete Songs of the Song Dynasty. The book includes 1,436 poets, with an additional 182 poets who were omitted in Complete Songs of the Song Dynasty, and its and corrects the omissions and shortcomings of Complete Songs of the Song Dynasty. This book undoubtedly holds great reference value for researchers.
