Features: This book is a highly imaginative prose fictional travelogue from medieval Europe, and also part of the "Understanding China" cultural translation series edited by Qian Linsen. The book consists of nine chapters, with the author embarking on a journey from England, traveling eastward step by step, passing through Central Asia, India, and China, before arriving in the legendary land of King John the Priest, and returning to Europe from the Garden of Eden located east of John's kingdom. Since the author did not actually visit Asia, the entire book is composed of imagination, and its descriptions differ greatly from the historical geography of the countries in Asia. However, due to the limitations of the time, true travel was extremely difficult, and as a result, the book still had a significant impact in Europe. The author was even praised by Dr. Johnson in the 18th century as the "Father of English Prose."
