Patient's question:
Recently, for about a year, I've been feeling that my penis has difficulty getting erect, possibly due to excessive work pressure. I consulted a doctor, and after the examination, the doctor said it might be caused by phimosis.Doctor's answer:
It is recommended to have a circumcison performed at a regular hospital. Swelling after the circumcision is normal, as trauma requires time to heal and establish lymphatic circulation. The wound typically heals within about a week, with full recovery taking around a month. Abstinence from sexual activity is advised for the first 45 days after the surgery. The exposed glans may experience dryness and peeling, which is common. Avoid spicy, alcoholic, or irritating foods post-surgery to prevent inflammation. Take a sedative before bed (as directed by your doctor) to prevent erections that could cause pain or bleeding. Young men should be particularly cautious, as the nerve endings of the long-covered glans are very sensitive and may easily become erect once exposed. Therefore, avoid watching pornographic materials, and couples should temporarily separate, refraining from hugs, kisses, or other forms of sexual stimulation. When urinating post-surgery, wear loose underwear to prevent wetting the dressing. If the dressing becomes wet with urine, change it promptly. Follow your doctor's instructions for medication to prevent infection.
