Features: The Book of Songs is the first of the Six Classics and the oldest extant collection of poems. It contains 305 poems from the early Zhou Dynasty (11th century BC) to the mid-Spring and Autumn period (6th century BC). Only a small selection is included here. The Rites selected five chapters. Among them, the "Great Learning" discusses the ideal of "the way of great unity, the world as one family" with open doors at night, and the era of "the way of great unity is hidden, the world becomes a family" with a well-ordered society and ritual systems. The Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon is divided into "Basic Questions" and "Spiritual Pivot," advocating "treating disease before it occurs" with a focus on prevention.
