Features: Huanggang High School, founded in 1904 in Huanggang, Hubei Province, was designated as a key high school in Hubei Province in 1953 and was awarded the title of "Advanced Unit in the National Education System" in 1986. In 2002, it was recognized as an "Advanced Unit in National Spiritual Civilization Construction." Huanggang High School upholds the educational philosophy of "putting people first and establishing the school on virtue," forming the distinctive educational feature of "comprehensive development + special talents" and exploring a teaching style of "seeking truth, refinement, diversity, and innovation." The outstanding performance in college entrance exams and competitions is the inevitable result of its long-term implementation of quality-oriented education and only one aspect of its abundant teaching achievements. When it comes to cultivating students, what magic formula does Huanggang High School possess? What ability does it have to turn sand into a tower? What skill does it have to turn stone into gold? These are questions I often hear. If one thinks that Huanggang High School merely follows the of the college entrance exams and passively engages in test-taking, that is incorrect. Huanggang High School does not advocate rote memorization or passive problem-solving. If it has any exceptional qualities, it lies in its ability to fully understand the intentions of test-setters and deeply grasp their underlying principles, becoming a leader rather than a blind follower. Huanggang High School does not oppose teachers immersing themselves in a sea of problems but strongly advocates that students break free from it. It opposes students doing mechanical, simple, repetitive, and tedious exercises but requires them to complete necessary ones. We encourage students to engage in flexible, diverse, and widely applicable problems, allowing them to enrich their knowledge, develop their abilities, and enhance their qualities in the process of problem-solving. If Huanggang High School has any other successes, it is that while cultivating and nurturing a large number of outstanding students, it has also forged a strong team of teachers, creating renowned master teachers in Hubei Province. These teachers possess profound scientific and cultural literacy, innovative educational concepts, unique teaching styles, artistic skills, and abundant teaching achievements. To showcase the talents of Huanggang High School teachers and share their teaching results, we have organized and carefully planned the writing of three series of books: "Huanggang High School Homework Books," "Huanggang High School Exam Papers," and "Huanggang High School 2006 College Entrance Exam Second and Third Round Training Materials." The "Huanggang High School Homework Books" series is based on the "Teaching Syllabus" and "Exam Syllabus," highlighting the role of "homework" in the process of students forming learning abilities, problem-solving abilities, and exam-taking abilities, reflecting the inevitable connection between Huanggang High School students' brilliant performance in various exams and their rigorous daily practice. This series has been meticulously designed in its format, featuring four major sections—pre-class warm-up, in-class exercises, after-class exercises, and middle/high school exam online—to reinforce training and improve abilities. It has the following features: 1. Appropriate problem positioning: In terms of problem arrangement, this series focuses on consolidating and progressively improving the knowledge points, exam topics, question types, and methods they are associated with. The positioning of the series is to enable students to reach a new level of problem-solving ability through progressive exercises in ability-based, open-ended, applied, and comprehensive formats. 2. Moderate difficulty gradient: The ratio of basic, intermediate, and difficult problems in this series is 6:3:1, making it suitable for the use of most secondary schools. Moreover, the vast majority of problems are labeled with A, B, or C to indicate their difficulty levels, with appropriate and clear requirements. 3. Detailed problem hints: The answers at the back of the book are appropriately detailed, with more thorough solutions provided for difficult problems. It is particularly worth mentioning that the timely and insightful hints sometimes play a pivotal role. This series emphasizes the originality and quality of the problems written by the authors, with rigorous review and proofreading at every stage, striving to become a unique gem in the educational supplement market.
