A History of Chinese Literary Theory in the 20th Century (3)

Author: Meng Fanhua

Publish Date: 2001-03-01
Features: When writing the history of contemporary literature has already become a "problem," conducting "academic history of contemporary literature" might seem even more challenging. However, as a researcher within the "system," one must first face the "task" before considering the "problem." It can be said that the thirty years from 1949 to 1978 provided quite meager content for academic history writing. Engaging in research on the contemporary period inherently involves difficulties that do not exist in other disciplines, and these difficulties cannot be resolved simply through effort. Here, I would like to particularly thank the Archives of the Chinese Academy of Sciences = Archives of the Ministry of Education, as they provided me with the convenience of access and made it possible for some materials to be used in this book.
