Can a 66-year-old have a circumcision?

Patient's question:

Penis foreskin overhang

Doctor's answer:

Penile phimosis refers to a condition where the foreskin of a grown man covers the glans, preventing it from being fully exposed. It can be categorized into true phimosis and false phimosis. True phimosis is when the glans cannot be fully exposed even when the penis is erect. False phimosis, on the other hand, is when the glans cannot be fully exposed in a flaccid state but can be fully exposed when the penis is erect.
Guidelines:
Phimosis is when the foreskin completely covers the glans, and the glans cannot be exposed at any time. If it is false phimosis, after the glans is exposed upon erection, the foreskin does not cause compression, pain, or discomfort to the penis, and surgery is not necessary. Simply retract the foreskin regularly to expose the glans, allowing the glans to get accustomed to being retracted and exposed. This is sufficient (medical adhesive tape can be used to secure it, as paper adhesive tape does not cause skin allergies). Generally, it takes about two weeks for the glans to fully adapt.
