Huang Tingjian Poetry Collection Notes (Volumes 1-5)

Author: Huang Tingjian
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2003-05-01
Features: Introduction to Huang Tingjian (1045–1105), styled Luzhi, styled Shanggushan Tongren, later styled Fuweng. Born in Fengzhou Fennin (now Xiushui, Jiangxi), he was a famous poet and calligrapher of the Northern Song Dynasty. The entire book is titled Huang Tingjian Poetry Collection with Annotations, based on Chen Sanli's replica of the Song edition Shangguan Poetry Annotations from the Guangxu period. According to Yang Shoujing's postscript, this edition of Shangguan Neijipu Zhuan was a replica of the Song edition carved in ancient Japan; Shangguan Waijipu Zhuan and Shangguan Biwjipu Zhuan were ancient Korean movable-type editions, also originating from the Song edition. Although the base text is sourced from overseas editions, it is highly close to the original Song edition, hence its text is superior in many aspects. This book faithfully compiles the annotations by Ren Yuan, Shi Rong, and Shi Jiwen for Huang Tingjian's Neiji, Waiji, and Biwei, as well as the explanations for the chronological arrangement of his poems. The book is divided into five volumes.
