Is it normal for a baby who is two weeks old to lift their head?

Patient's question:

My doll is 68 days old. It could lift its head right after birth. Within two months, the doll lifted its head very well. And once, it lifted its head very high and looked around with its head up for a while. Is it normal for a 15-day-old doll to lift its head?

Doctor's answer:

Hello, this parent. At four months old, the baby should be able to support their own head when held upright; and when lying face down, the baby should be able to lift their head and form a 90-degree angle with their shoulder blades. If you need to train the baby to lift their head, you can place the baby on the bed in a face-down position, then gently grab their waist. The baby will naturally lift their head. However, each training session should not exceed 1-2 minutes.
