Nile River Chronicle (A Legend of a River, Including Two Volumes)

Author: (German) Ludwig (Ludwig, E.)
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 1997-03-01
Features: In the later period of its life, the Nile's struggle has proven the distinctive characteristics of its natural environment and terrain. This characteristic had a decisive influence on its adolescence, while its later influence came from humans. This shift in theme must be particularly recorded in the river's banks, as it traversed the land, witnessing a long history of human civilization during its maturity: a century in Sudan, followed by sixty centuries in Egypt. Thus, the first three-quarters of the book's first half (about the Upper Nile) will be dedicated to nature, with only a quarter devoted to history. In the latter half (about Egypt), the two are roughly equal, especially since the changes in terrain, flora, and fauna between Aswan and the delta are relatively minor.
