Features: Mystical culture is a mysterious and ever-changing treasure trove. Scholars glimpse flashes of wisdom from it; administrators draw political strategies from it; merchants gain abundant wealth from it; believers seek binding chains of superstition from it. Looking at the contemporary world, many people, both Chinese and foreign, are deeply involved in mystical culture, achieving fruitful results. Regrettably and horrifyingly, amidst the clamor, some uneducated scoundrels have emerged, writing various pamphlets to promote superstition, confuse public perception, poison the masses, and enrich themselves.
Divination by character, also known as breaking characters, character analysis, or character dissection, is a social folk culture phenomenon chosen within the Chinese cultural sphere. In the realm of humanities, it should certainly have its own garden. In my limited view, there is still no dedicated work on divination by character published in China. Under such circumstances, choosing this topic for writing seems somewhat presumptuous. After delving into it, I have realized how bizarre, bewildering, and chaotic this mystical field is, and I have repeatedly thought of abandoning it with a simple "three minus five, two." However, simply labeling divination as "superstitious" cannot lead those who are obsessed with it back to the right path, nor can it provide a scientific clarification of the complex divination system. Every time I consider this, I find myself unable to give up, and I can only strive to complete it.
