Will a hernia grow with time?

Patient's question:

I recently don't know why my lower abdomen is very uncomfortable, and I also don't get morning erections anymore. Please ask if a hernia will grow with time.

Doctor's answer:

Infantile hernia generally occurs shortly after a child is born. When the child cries, runs, or exerts excessive force, a lump can be seen above the scrotum/scrotum, which disappears when the child is calm.
Guidelines:
Children under one year old may have the possibility of self-healing, while children over one year old have almost no chance of self-healing and require surgical treatment. Therefore, surgery should be performed after one year of age.
