How to deal with a polyp growing in the urethral opening

Patient's question:

Thank you, Dr. FAN! I went to the hospital to have the doctor examine the granulation tissue at the urethral meatus of my penis. He said to start taking some anti-inflammatory medication and have a blood test to rule out syphilis and other sexually transmitted diseases. If there are no STIs, the doctor mentioned using laser to remove the granulation tissue. However, the hospital is very small and the nearest one to me is far away. Should I follow this approach?

Doctor's answer:

Sexually transmitted diseases in the early stage may appear as small cone-shaped papules and vesicles, usually occurring on the external genitalia or around the anus. Most of them are pink or cauliflower-like, with very fragile surfaces that can be easily removed by hand. They are also prone to bleeding and infection.
Prevent contact transmission: Avoid using others' underwear, swimsuits, or bathtubs; do not bathe in public tubs, and prefer showering instead. After showering, do not sit directly on public bath chairs. In public restrooms, use squat toilets as much as possible, wash your hands with soap before using the toilet, and avoid swimming in crowded or poorly disinfected pools.
