Features: Children have songs they love to sing from a young age. Those lyrics filled with humor and life philosophy, along with catchy and melodious tunes, accompany their growth and are deeply imprinted in their memories. With the popularization of music education, more and more children are learning various musical instruments during their spare time, and the violin, a singing-like instrument, is particularly favored by them. We thought that if children could play their favorite songs on the violin during their learning process, or sing and play together with their friends, it would be both fun and enjoyable. For this reason, we compiled this collection.
This collection is not a basic textbook, so we did not arrange the pieces in order of difficulty or complexity. Instead, we organized them roughly by the different periods of the original songs and into categories for teenagers, children, and young children. To enrich the content, we also included some excerpts from ballets and operas, as well as folk songs from various ethnic groups suitable for children's singing. In terms of arrangement, we mostly maintained the original melodies of the songs. To facilitate accompaniment, a few pieces had their keys slightly adjusted, while the rest remained in their original keys. For easier playing and better expression of the music's emotions, we clearly marked the tempo, bowing techniques, and fingerings.
We hope that the publication of this collection will help children learning the violin become more familiar with the melodies and tones of our nation's music, and open up a new realm for their self-entertainment and amateur performances.
