Patient's question:
Detailed medical condition and consultation purpose: Every morning, I wake up with extremely dry mouth and eyes, yellow urine with a strong odor, and sometimes premature ejaculation.I consulted a traditional Chinese medicine doctor, who said it is caused by kidney yin deficiency.
Please provide expert advice and guidance, including the precautions I should take in daily life and treatment methods. I am deeply grateful.
Doctor's answer:
Hello, it might be Sj?gren's syndrome. Sj?gren's syndrome is a chronic autoimmune disease primarily affecting exocrine glands such as the lacrimal glands and salivary glands, also known as autoimmune exocrinopathy. The main symptoms include dry keratoconjunctivitis, xerostomia (dry mouth), or the occurrence of other rheumatic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. It can affect other systems such as the respiratory, digestive, urinary, hematological, nervous, and muscular systems, as well as joints, leading to multi-system and multi-organ damage.Currently, there is no specific treatment. It is important to maintain oral and ocular hygiene, using 0.5% methylcellulose eye drops. Citrate solution mouth rinsing is often used to stimulate salivary gland secretion and partially replace saliva. Pre-meal application of 2% methylcellulose to the mouth may occasionally alleviate symptoms. In cases of severe functional changes, widespread systemic involvement, or concurrent other connective tissue diseases, corticosteroids, immunosuppressants, or tripterygium preparations may be used. Plasma exchange therapy can suppress parotid gland enlargement and improve exocrine function.
