It was collected and edited by the Beijing Municipal Committee History and Revolution Research Office of the Communist Party of China. The book selects important documents on the activities of the North Bureau of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and its northern committee before the establishment of the North Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, as well as relevant directives from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China to the North Bureau and documents from the local party organizations under the jurisdiction of the North Bureau. It also includes recollections of some participants in key events about the northern party organizations and special topics and materials provided by the Party History and Revolution Research Offices of the provincial party committees of Hebei, Beijing, Tianjin, Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Henan, and the Yulin region of Shaanxi. To facilitate readers' study of the history of the northern region during the Domestic Revolutionary War and their understanding of the content of this book, we have also written an overview of the North Bureau of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China.
