What is the problem when there are small red spots on the front of the with itching?

Patient's question:

Patient Age: 21
Detailed Condition and Purpose of Consultation: Yesterday, I had itchy spots at the front of my glans, with two small red dots. I applied some Daktarin, and the itching stopped. But today, the small red dots are suddenly painful again, and they look like blisters. I have genital herpes, and in the past, when it recurred, the blisters were always on my foreskin. Please tell me if my herpes is recurring now? I had a recurrence on November 5, and I just finished treatment.

Doctor's answer:

Balanoposthitis is generally treated both internally and externally. For the treatment of acute superficial balanoposthitis and annular erosive balanoposthitis, erythromycin and tetracycline are the first-line choices, usually taken at 0.5g per dose, four times daily. For trichomoniasis-induced balanoposthitis, metronidazole is the preferred treatment, taken at 0.2g per dose, three times daily, for a total of 10 days. For balanoposthitis caused by Candida albicans, it is commonly treated with griseofulvin or itraconazole. Griseofulvin is administered at 100,000 to 200,000 units per dose, twice daily, while itraconazole is taken at 100mg per dose, twice daily, for a total of 7 days.
