The complete series consists of six volumes and eleven books. This is the third volume, which tells the story of the State of Qin, with Bai Qi as its general and Fan Qian as its prime minister, implementing the "far alliances and near attacks" strategy. King Zhao of Yan sought talent and gained the renowned general Yue Yi, who then allied with five other states to (destroy Qi). The State of Qi, with Tian Dan holding out in a besieged city for six years, eventually restored its independence. After adopting the Hu dress and horseback archery, the State of Zhao became the most powerful state in the East. Qin and the six Eastern states centered around Zhao engaged in long-term battles, which eventually led to the Battle of Changping.
