Features: In the book "Accessible Leadership," the authors have been dedicated to exploring how and why conversation has become the foundation of great leaders. They focus on the study of leadership communication through two-way dialogue and the direct impact of these conversations on organizational strategy. They emphasize the importance of uncomfortable conversations and provide readers with a thoughtful framework that connects debate, discussion, and dialogue, allowing managers to understand the complete cycle of leadership communication. One of the most important aspects of this book is its emphasis on values. In the post-Enron and post-McKinney era, accessible leadership brings us back to the realization of the extreme importance of leaders who are based on values. Jacqueline and Steven remind us that, as leaders, reliability is the foundation of leaders' credibility. Ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle said that a person who persuades others possesses three qualities: reason, pity, and temperament. Reason is a set of convincing and rational arguments, and today, most managers are very clear about the content of these arguments. Pity involves emotions, and as our interest in emotional intelligence and its relationship with leadership issues deepens, we begin to understand the importance of this second element of persuasion—pity—in leading others. The issue of temperament is seen by Aristotle as the most fundamental aspect of persuasion, giving the speaker the strongest support to influence others. In terms of communication, managers must continuously increase the demands for temperament. In other words, the ethical attitude of managers is extremely important in their impact on leadership.
