In treatment, asymptomatic mild varicocele generally does not require treatment. Mild varicocele or those accompanied by neurasthenia can be managed through methods such as scrotal support and cold compresses. For more severe varicocele, a history of sperm count below 20 million for three consecutive times, or testicular atrophy, or when the dilated veins disappear when lying down, varicocelectomy (high ligation of internal spermatic vein) can be performed.
