Patient's question:
Hello: I had testicular pain last year and was diagnosed with orchitis (caused by a sore throat). After treatment, the pain subsided, so I didn't pay much attention to it. Occasionally, I would feel a slight pain, but upon closer attention, it wasn't really there. The doctor said it was cured at the time. However, now the chromosome test results show they are not qualified: 46XX,Y-18Doctor's answer:
Generally speaking, orchitis is mostly without sequelae, although some patients may experience fatigue, chills, loss of appetite, low-grade fever, and headaches. Symptoms typically peak within 2-3 days, with local pain, hypersensitivity, and significant pain during opening and chewing. Pain worsens when eating acidic foods. A minority of orchitis cases may have sequelae, primarily characterized by involvement of one testicle. Half of the patients may experience varying degrees of testicular atrophy several months after onset. Orchitis caused by mumps virus can lead to a certain degree of infertility.
