Three generations of annals

Features: The annalistic style, as one of the genres of Chinese historical books, excels in "saving words compared to biographies and making events clearer than chronological records," and is "a format that is convenient for memory and retrieval, more suitable for beginners in history." Since the publication of Yuan Shu's Annals of the Great Tang in the Song Dynasty, the compilation of annalistic histories has flourished like bamboo shoots after rain. From the Spring and Autumn Period to the Qing Dynasty, there have been annalistic historical books available for reading. To this day, Zhonghua Book Company has successively proofread and published most of the annalistic historical books. In the Xia, Shang, and Western Zhou dynasties, due to the scattered and incomplete historical records and the lack of chronological historical books to draw from, no annalistic historical books had been published yet. The compilation and publication of Annals of the Three Dynasties have filled this gap.
