Features: Liu Gang (1961—) graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Shandong Normal University and furthered his studies at the Chinese Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1993. He is currently a professional painter at the Jinan Painting Institute, serving as Assistant to the Director and Director of the Office. A National Level 2 Fine Arts Master. In 1997, he held an individual landscape painting exhibition at the National Art Museum of China in Beijing and the Shandong Provincial Art Museum, receiving widespread attention from the art community. In 1998, his work "Autumn Clouds" was selected for the "Contemporary Chinese Landscape Painting - Oil Painting Landscape Exhibition" at the China International Art Annual. In 1999, his work "Exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains" won the silver prize at the "Shandong Provincial Cross-Century Chinese Painting Fine Art Exhibition." In 2000, he participated in the "Qifeng" exhibition of six Shandong landscape painters held at the National Art Museum of China in Beijing. In 2001, his work "Gazing at Mount Tai" won the silver prize at the "New Era Chinese Painting Exhibition" organized by the China Artists Association. In 2002, he took part in the "Entering the Taihang Mountains" plein air painting activity organized by the "Oil Painter" magazine. In 2003, his work "Impression of the Taihang Mountains" won the bronze prize at the "Haitao Cup" Chinese Painting Exhibition organized by the China Artists Association. In 2004, his work "Freedom in the Water" was selected for the Third National Chinese Painting Exhibition. In 2004, his work "Haitai Ink Wash Painting" won the gold prize for landscape painting at the Second Shandong Provincial Painting and Sketching Exhibition. In 2005, his work "Cloud Bathing the Mountains" was selected for the Second National Landscape Painting - Oil Painting Landscape Contrast Exhibition. His works include " auspicious clouds," collected by the National Art Museum of China; "Poetic Meaning of Huabuzhu Mountain," collected by the Gold and Color Award Committee of the China Literature and Art Federation; "Moonlit Night," collected by the Shandong Provincial Art Museum; "Auspicious Clouds and Timely Rain Nourish Jinan," collected by the Jinan Municipal People's Government Office; "Gazing at Mount Tai," collected by the Shunhua Garden Business Club; and "Poetic Grandeur of Lishan," collected by Shengeng Mountain Villa of Jinan State Guest House. His works have been featured in journals such as Art, Art Observation, Oil Painter, Chinese Art, Chinese Calligraphy and Painting, and Shandong Satellite Television. He has published three personal art books.
