[Condition Description: I recently noticed blood streaks in my semen. I went to the hospital, and the doctor said it's a symptom of seminal vesiculitis. I took medication and received intravenous drips for three days, but the effect wasn't very good. I was treated at Suzhou Fengqiao People's Hospital.
History of Treatment and Effect: It's a bit better than before, but the effect isn't very noticeable, and I'm not very satisfied.
What Help I Need: I don't know what to do now. I'm very worried.]

Doctor's answer:

1、Local Treatment
When treating seminal vesiculitis, if the medication can be directly applied to the affected area, the therapeutic effect will certainly be excellent. Common methods include: ① Administering 20 ml of Coptis chinensis liquid enema; ② Applying a 1% Coptis chinensis liquid for local wet dressing, combined with electrotherapy; ③ Using traditional Chinese herbal medicines that promote blood circulation, remove blood stasis, detoxify, and anti-inflammatory effects for hot sitz baths. These methods have all shown good efficacy in treating seminal vesiculitis. Patients are advised to follow their doctor's guidance when using these treatments.
2、Antibacterial Treatment
Since seminal vesiculitis is caused by bacterial infection, antibacterial treatment is essential in its management. Currently, antibiotics are commonly used to treat seminal vesiculitis, with Cefixime (a cephalosporin) and Ofloxacin (a quinolone) demonstrating the most ideal therapeutic effects. For acute-phase patients, after symptoms are controlled, continuous medication for 1-2 weeks is required. Chronic patients, on the other hand, should take medication for at least 4 weeks, or longer to consolidate the therapeutic effect and prevent recurrence.
