Patient's question:
Description of the problem: Sometimes when I go to the toilet to have a bowel movement, after straining, a little viscous sperm flows out of my penis on its own. What is going on here? Is it dead sperm, or is it a problem with the prostate?Doctor's answer:
Hello, post-micturition urethral discharge of milky white secretions is known as post-micturition drop white. This is a sign of chronic prostatitis, and the secretions discharged are prostatic fluid. The male urethra serves as a common channel for both urination and ejaculation. The rectum, located directly in front of the anus, is where the seminal vesicles and prostate are situated. During defecation, the rectum generates strong peristaltic movements, and as feces pass through, they exert pressure and friction on the intestinal walls. As a result, some of the "accumulated" secretions in the seminal vesicles and prostate are squeezed into the urethra and discharged. During urination, increased abdominal pressure causes the muscles of the perineum and the bladder sphincter to contract, compressing the prostate and also causing prostatic fluid to drip from the urethra.
