Features: The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences is the highest institution of humanities and social sciences in China,、、、. The Institute of Law is one of its many research institutes. On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the Institute of Law, we decided to invite law scholars who have made outstanding achievements in their respective fields to select their best works over the years and publish them in the form of the "Essentials of Law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences" series. Each collection begins with an academic biography. The academic biography is written by the author or commissioned by others. The academic biographies vary in style and complexity, but all reflect the author's research experience and inner journey, as well as their academic and personal style. The main part of the self-selected collection consists of the author's works from different periods. When negotiating the publication of the collection with the authors, they were concerned that republishing previously published papers might be disrespectful to readers. However, we believe that when authors select their papers, they exercise their own prudent academic judgment. Through the authors' prudent selection, combined with the author's mindset and the contextual background conveyed in the academic biography, we will gain a deeper understanding of the content and value of each paper in the collection. At the end of each self-selected collection, we have attached a comprehensive bibliography of the author's academic achievements to date. This bibliography not only showcases the author's academic creativity but also, for attentive readers, reveals the author's keen insight and appropriate selection of academic topics. Of course, compiling a collection does not mean the end of the author's academic journey; rather, it is a new starting point. The lifeblood of the universe is constant renewal. The vitality of the Institute of Law lies in having an ever-progressive group of scholars. We hope that this series of collections can continue to be compiled, allowing readers to continuously obtain rich information accumulated over time, learn more about the academic journeys of many scholars at the Institute of Law, and reflect on the future of Chinese law when closing the book.
