International relations at the turn of the century

Author: Xu Yihua
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2001-09-01
Features: The articles included in this book, except for a small number already published in other journals, are mostly new works by faculty members and a few graduate students of our department. In fact, there are far more new works by faculty and students of our department available for selection than the 15 included in this book. The book categorizes the included papers into: (1) Economic Globalization and International Relations; (2) U.S. and European Politics and International Relations; (3). Although these three divisions may seem somewhat arbitrary, they basically cover the research fields of our department's faculty. The book reflects only a glimpse of the study of traditional international relations theory, especially on international hot issues such as international security, great power strategies, and China-U.S. relations. The department's focus on non-traditional research topics such as gender, race, religion, and culture is only superficially addressed in the book. The interdisciplinary and field research initiatives recently promoted by our department are entirely absent from this book.
