It is hoped that in the coming period, more translations and works on new narrative theory will be published. Additionally, it is hoped that when constructing Chinese narrative studies, Western post-classical or postmodern narrative theories can be appropriately referenced. "New narrative theory" refers to the classical or postmodern narrative theories in the West since the 1990s, which reflect, innovate, and surpass structuralist narrative studies. In recent ten years, the translations published domestically have been limited to the classical narrative theories by Western scholars from the 1970s to the 1980s, with no involvement in the category of new narrative theory. This series aims to help fill this gap. The first five translations in this series represent the essence of new narrative theory, showcasing its different research schools, offering fresh perspectives, depth, and distinctive features. This series is an important supplement and development to the Western classical narrative theories already introduced into China, providing excellent references for broadening thinking and deepening research.
