Features: Literary historiography encompasses two major aspects: one is the historical review of the process of literary history research, which is what we refer to as the history of literary historiography; the other is the theoretical summary of the principles and methods of the discipline of literary historiography, which can be termed literary historiography theory or literary historiography principles. The principles of historiography and the history of historiography constitute the basic scope of literary historiography. Both are based on a comprehensive examination of literary history research. In addition, individual historians or literary history works can be reviewed, which is called historiographical criticism. However, the focus of historiographical criticism is either inclined toward history or toward theory, ultimately still subordinate to the history of historiography or historiography principles. The division of these two major sections is naturally extremely rough, and further consideration suggests it could be subdivided into several levels.
