How are testicular cysts formed?

Patient's question:

My private life is quite chaotic, and I don't pay attention to hygiene in my private area. Recently, I noticed some pain in my testicles. At first, I didn't pay much attention, but later I found that my testicles were getting bigger and swollen like a ball. The help I need: How are testicular cysts formed?

Doctor's answer:

Testicular swelling is commonly seen in orchitis or epididymitis. In orchitis, the affected testis shows diffuse reduction in size but maintains an oval shape. During the acute phase, the main manifestations include swelling and tenderness of the testis, with referred pain to the inguinal region. If there is a bacterial infection, an abscess may form, causing a sense of vibration. Orchitis patients often exhibit symptoms such as redness and swelling of the scrotal skin. Epididymitis is mostly caused by retrograde transmission from prostatitis or seminal vesiculitis along the vas deferens, with hematogenous infection being rare. It is divided into acute epididymitis and chronic epididymitis.
