Patient's question:
In the past half month, I have had a fever twice, experienced frequent urination and urgency, difficulty urinating, a dribbling sensation, divided urine flow, strong urine odor, and severe redness and swelling of the prostate. It hurts when touched, and there is obvious lower abdominal pain. The medication didn't help, so I went to the hospital for a thorough examination. The doctor said it was prostate stones and that immediate treatment is needed.Doctor's answer:
Prostatic calculi refer to true stones that are formed within the prostatic acini and ducts, originating from primary or endogenous sources. Small prostatic calculi can lead to chronic inflammation, and the prostate stroma around the stones may also fibrosis. For the majority of small, numerous, asymptomatic, and stationary calculi discovered during routine X-ray examinations, treatment is often not required. For symptomatic stones with mild infection, symptoms can be suppressed through prostatic massage and the use of antibiotics.
