Publishing Date: Not available
Features: This book is a collection of archival materials. Although the Japanese imperialists, upon their defeat and surrender, burned most of their archival materials in China to destroy evidence of their crimes, a large amount of material documenting their atrocities still exists. This has made it possible for us to dedicate this book to the readers. However, due to limited resources, this book can only be presented as a "selection." For the convenience of readers, the book is organized into thematic volumes, covering the "September 18th Incident," the North China Incident, the puppet Manchukuo and Wang Jingwei regime, the repeated major atrocities in Northeast China, the fascist rule of the Manchukuo police and constitution, the Great Scourge in North China, the atrocities of the Japanese army in various places, biological warfare, and economic plunder, among others. The facts reflected in the selected archival materials are mostly events that occurred between 1931 and 1945. The book was collectively edited by the editorial team, with each volume assigned to a dedicated editor. One of the editorial staff, Comrade Jia Yuqin, also undertook the heavy task of translation and proofreading. In addition to existing translations, all translations of Japanese archival materials were done by Comrade Jia Yuqin. Comrades Zhou Xing and Wang Qingxiang actively participated in the collection and selection of materials in the early stages of the book's editing. Executive Deputy Chief Editor Xie Xueshi, in addition to specifically overseeing the book's editing and publishing, also assisted Chief Editor Wang Mingzhe in revising, supplementing, and reviewing each volume.
