Features: The Collected Conversations on Couplets (12 volumes), The Continued Conversations on Couplets (4 volumes), and The Further Conversations on Couplets (2 volumes) were all compiled by Liang Zhangju during the Qing Dynasty. The Four Conversations on Couplets (6 volumes) was compiled by Liang Zhangju's third son, Liang Gongchen. Liang Zhangju, also known as Hongzhong and Qianlin by courtesy name, later took the posthumous name Tu'an. His ancestral home was Chenle County, Fujian Province, but he moved to Fuzhou during the early Qing Dynasty, hence his self-identification as a Fuzhou native. He passed the provincial examination in the 59th year of the Qianlong reign (1794 AD) and became a jinshi in the 7th year of the Jiaqing reign (1802 AD). The New Conversations on Couplets (10 volumes) was compiled by Zou Yinghao of Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, during the Qing Dynasty. According to the preface of the book, Zhu family members held the positions of "Chief Magistrate, County Magistrate, and County Marshal" in Fujian and other regions during the early years of the Guangxu reign in the late Qing Dynasty. The Further Conversations on Couplets was annotated based on the first edition printed in Guilin in the spring of the 20th year of the Daoguang reign (1840 AD). The New Conversations on Couplets was annotated based on the original prints from the 18th and 19th years of the Guangxu reign (1892–1893 AD). Some typographical errors were corrected based on relevant materials.
