Patient's question:
I went to the hospital yesterday, but for some reason, I have some pain down there. Please help me analyze what could be causing the seminal vesiculitis.Doctor's answer:
The causes of this condition:1. Excessive consumption of spicy, greasy, or rich foods by men, or excessive alcohol consumption, leads to internal damp-heat, which descends to the seminal vesicles, damages blood vessels, causing blood to follow semen leakage. Alternatively, excessive consumption of spicy and aromatic foods may injure yin, resulting in yin deficiency and internal heat, disrupting the seminal vesicles and causing blood in semen.
2. Unrestrained sexual activity. After sexual intercourse, excessive fatigue may lead to kidney injury, depleting kidney yin and causing yin deficiency with internal heat, which disturbs the seminal vesicles, resulting in blood in semen. Alternatively, individuals with inherent yin deficiency may develop internal heat due to uncontrolled desire, damaging blood vessels in the seminal vesicles and causing blood to flow with semen, leading to blood in semen.
3. Blood stagnation. This occurs when external injuries to the genital area are not properly treated, leading to blood stasis. Alternatively, emotional distress may cause qi stagnation, or damp-heat pathogens may damage blood vessels. Blood stagnation in the seminal vesicles damages blood vessels, causing dark red blood to leak, often accompanied by clear pain in the perineum. Poor diet is also a cause of seminal vesiculitis.
4. Emotional distress. Emotional imbalances may transform into internal heat, injuring yin, leading to yin deficiency with internal heat and disturbance of the seminal vesicles, causing blood and semen to mix. Alternatively, overthinking may injure the spleen, weakening qi and causing kidney deficiency due to lack of nourishment from the spleen. Spleen-kidney qi deficiency fails to control blood, resulting in blood and semen leakage.
