Features: Liyun Academic Journal is divided into the "Language Volume" and the "Literature Volume." The "Language Volume" is advised by Professor Wang Ning and Professor He Jiuying, and edited by Professor Li Yunfu. The "Literature Volume" is advised by Professor Qi Gong and Professor Tong Qingbing, and edited by Professor Guo Yingde. The journal is tentatively published twice a year, with each issue containing approximately 500,000 words, and is released in April and October. The Frontispiece states: "The journal's name Liyun carries both the meaning of following the footsteps of the predecessors and the purpose of promoting the academic tradition of Beijing Normal University. The characters Liyun originally served as the name of the study room of the former president of Beijing Normal University, Professor Chen Yuan. Professor Chen Yuan chose this name for two reasons: first, to express his sense of belonging and reverence for his ancestors; second, because he firmly believed that studying is like farming—equal effort yields equal rewards."
