How are neurogenic tumors treated?

Patient's question:

Hello doctor, does anyone know how to treat neurogenic tumors well?

Doctor's answer:

Neurogenic tumors originate from the spinal nerves, sympathetic nerve trunks, intercostal nerves, and vagus nerves. They are one of the most common mediastinal tumors in adults and children. Neurogenic tumors are almost exclusively located in the paravertebral groove, growing along the sympathetic chain or along the spinal and intercostal nerves. The incidence rates on both sides of the ribs are roughly equal. The tumor can occur at any level, but it is most commonly found in the upper part or upper one-third of the mediastinum. Neurogenic tumors can be classified as benign or malignant. Common benign tumors include schwannomas and neurofibromas, which are more prevalent in adults. For malignant neurogenic tumors, there are neurogenic sarcomas and malignant pheochromocytomas.
