Patient's question:
Symptoms of urethritis?Doctor's answer:
What are the symptoms of urethritis? The onset of urethritis is not as rapid as that of gonorrhea, with symptoms that persist and fluctuate, but are generally milder than gonorrhea. Approximately 50% of patients experience symptoms such as dysuria and urethral itching. It is often easily missed during the initial diagnosis. Non-gonococcal urethritis in women is even milder, with or without dysuria, and may involve a small amount of discharge. At times, the cervix may also be inflamed or eroded, with cervical secretions containing a high number of segmented white blood cells (more than 10 per field under high magnification).
