Features:
1. This series selectively compiles classic legal essays from the Republican era (including a small number from the late Qing dynasty), making no changes that would alter the original text, only appropriate technical editing.
2. Vertical layouts in the original are uniformly converted to horizontal layouts, and terms like "as left" or "as right" are correspondingly changed to "as follows" or "as above."
3. Traditional Chinese characters in the original are converted to simplified characters.
4. Texts without punctuation or with non-standard punctuation are uniformly revised to use modern punctuation marks.
5. Dates used in the original, such as "Minguo Year 10," are converted to "1921," or explained in parentheses upon first occurrence in the text.
6. Proper nouns and specialized terms in the original are revised to current common usage.
7. Texts without paragraph divisions are appropriately segmented.
8. Obvious factual errors, numerical inaccuracies, names, or other quoted materials in the original are corrected as needed.
This book is the third volume of Essential Legal Essays from the Republican Era, featuring 42 essays on civil and commercial law from the Republican period. For the selected essays, in addition to adding brief editor’s notes before each piece to summarize key points and provide concise biographical information about the authors, converting traditional characters to simplified characters, replacing variant characters with standard forms, and correcting minor errors to aid readers in comprehension, we have made no other changes to preserve the historical authenticity of the essays as they were originally published.
