Features: The "Collected Works of Huang Da" were edited and published in 1999, more than five years ago. During these five-plus years, the author's main focus was on writing the "Textbook of Finance," while also accumulating some papers and short essays. After organization, there are 40 pieces. Additionally, selected quotations from 1983 to 2003 were included as the 41st piece, forming "Collected Works of Huang Da (Continuation)." From 1999 to May 2001, 20 pieces were selected and compiled into "Finance: Terms, Discipline, Situation, Methods, and Others," published by the China Financial Publishing House in September 2001. Some of the speeches included have accompanying slides; others only have slides. When compiling "Collected Works (Continuation)," those with only slides were converted into text, while the appended slides were not included. The decision to continue compiling into a book now is because, to this day, the author has completed an entire 80-year life journey, and the teaching journey in the field of finance has added another five years. The selection criteria follow the same principles as "Collected Works of Huang Da": selecting papers, outlines and drafts of speeches, transcripts of speech recordings, and other short essays—all centered around financial and economic issues, particularly finance. The selection is not based on the level of content or correctness. The included text is preserved in its original form. Obviously incorrect typos, missing or inappropriate punctuation, and paragraph divisions in the speech transcripts that make the original meaning difficult to understand are technically corrected. Some speech transcripts had additional connecting text added to ensure coherence in meaning, without altering the original intent. The pieces are arranged in chronological order. Like "Collected Works of Huang Da," the compilation and publication of this continuation were driven by the School of Finance and Public Economics at Renmin University of China; the university leadership showed concern and support, and the China Renmin University Press provided active assistance.
