Features: Wu Changshuo was born in the late Qing Dynasty and grew up during the late Qing and early Republican period. This not only allowed him to directly draw on the successful experiences of many predecessors in seal carving but also provided access to newly unearthed artifacts for reference. Moreover, his expertise in poetry, calligraphy, painting, and seal carving enabled him to comprehensively inherit and develop the art of seal carving edge inscriptions. Building on the foundation of his predecessors, he further enriched and refined it. However, this enrichment and refinement were not achieved overnight but rather through a process of development and maturation. In his early years, although he inherited and gained some understanding, his edge inscriptions were somewhat rigid and lacked comprehensiveness. Only in his middle years did he gradually become more refined and mature, eventually forming his unique artistic style.
