Features: Difference (edited by Jin Huimin) is an international humanities academic series published in response to the call of the times and to promote academic exchanges between China and the world. Difference advocates the "New Dialogue" approach, "seeking common ground while reserving differences," understanding and tolerating differences. Its purpose is to preserve the originality of "difference" in the world and to leave something beneficial for our nation and country in the collision of Chinese and Western cultures. The series primarily features in-depth, original, and cutting-edge thematic essays with international significance. Each issue focuses on a relatively concentrated theme and regularly includes columns such as "Book Reviews of Antiquity and Modernity" and "Academic Interviews." The first issue includes three themes: "Postmodernism and Traditional Chinese Culture," "Reflections on Enlightenment," and "French Theory," and was officially published in September 2003.
