Is it normal for a baby to have three bowel movements a day?

Patient's question:

20 days, 3 bowel movements per day, very regular, clay-colored, formed or pasty but not liquid
1. 1 time upon waking up in the morning: formed, softer, larger volume
2. 1 time upon waking up in the morning: formed, smaller volume
3. 1 time upon waking up in the afternoon: formed or pasty, smaller volume
Is this considered diarrhea?

Doctor's answer:

I don't know how old the baby is. Generally, babies under 6 months old have not yet formed their stools. The stools are usually loose, yellowish or yellow, with no strong odor. Two to three times a day or every two to three days is considered normal.
After 6 months, babies start eating solid foods, so their stools become formed, usually long and sausage-like. Normally, the color is yellow, and they may have a slight odor. If the diet includes a lot of green foods, the color may turn slightly green. One to two bowel movements a day, or every one to two days, are also normal.
