What is a male prostate cyst?

Patient's question:

I recently don't know why my lower abdomen is very uncomfortable, and I also don't have morning erections anymore. What is the cause of male prostatic cyst?

Doctor's answer:

Prostatic cyst refers to any cystic lesion within the of the prostate. Most are small and do not cause obvious symptoms, and can be managed without special treatment. Regular follow-up with color Doppler ultrasound can monitor the size changes of the cyst. For larger prostatic cysts, there is a risk of second-order nerve transmission and stone formation. When the cyst is large enough to compress the urethra, symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, difficulty urinating, and thinning of the urine stream may occur. Surgical treatment or puncture treatment can be performed.
