What symptoms are prostatic cysts?

Patient's question:

Recently, I've been feeling like I can't empty my bladder in one go, and the frequency has significantly increased compared to before. I went to the urology department for a check-up, and the doctor's diagnosis was a prostatic cyst. I'd like to ask, what is a prostatic cyst?

Doctor's answer:

Prostate cyst refers to the re-emergence of a liquid-filled mass in the prostate. It is commonly seen in congenital small cysts, infections, or acquired prostatic duct blockages. Due to the formation of a mass within the prostate, the prostate volume may decrease, and to a certain extent, it can compress the urethra, leading to urethral narrowing, reduced urethral resistance, and difficulty in urination. It is generally caused by infections, and treatment typically involves sensitive or broad-spectrum antibiotics. In some cases, if necessary, the cyst may be treated with anesthesia and (hardening agent) injections. If it recurs frequently, surgical treatment may be considered. It is recommended to quit smoking and drinking alcohol, and to minimize the intake of spicy and irritating foods.
