Features: The 20th century was a rich and complex historical process. The 20th century in China experienced a dramatic and fluctuating history of the Chinese people's resilient struggle against adversity: in the first half of the century, countless intellectuals and patriots endured hardships and fought bravely; in the latter half, the Chinese people finally took control of their destiny and embarked on the path of comprehensive rejuvenation, with the following two decades being the most intense, profound, and triumphant period in the modernization process of the Chinese nation. Comrade Jiang Zemin once pointed out, "No matter a nation, a country, or a city, if it forgets its history, it cannot truly understand the present or correctly move toward the future." "History" is the spiritual pillar of a nation, the foundation of ethnic cohesion, and the cornerstone of a city's culture. Contemporary people yearn to accurately examine the present from the distant past and scientifically glimpse the future by understanding their country's history, studying their nation's past, and reflecting on their city's yesterday. Yesterday and today form a subtle harmony; understanding yesterday is to understand today. China has a civilization spanning over 5,000 years. As participants and witnesses of the late 20th century, standing at today's historical height, it is worthwhile to revisit the tumultuous and bloody Chinese revolution of the 20th century, delve into the era we live in today, and consider the marks left on our country, society, system, and cultural and ideological concepts by historical transformations. Furthermore, reflecting on our new round of national construction and development goals may enable us to live with greater clarity.
