Author: Henry Morse
Publisher:
Publish Date: 1998-12-01
Features: It is a classic work on the international relations of East Asia published in the 1920s and 1930s. The book consists of thirty chapters. The first three chapters introduce the geographical elements of East Asia, the relationship between ancient Western and East Asia, and the relationship between Europe and East Asia from the 16th to the 18th century. The remaining chapters sequentially describe the relationship between Western powers (mainly Britain, the United States, France, and Russia) and the countries of East Asia from the mid-19th century to the early 1930s, as well as the relationships among the countries of East Asia. Except for three chapters that are not directly related to China, the rest are centered around China-related issues. Therefore, in a certain sense, it can also be said to be a history of China's foreign relations and modern Chinese history.
