Features: Since its establishment in 1989, the Chinese Journalism History Society has organized multiple national and international seminars on the history of journalism and communication. Following the "International Academic Conference on World Chinese Media and the Dissemination of Chinese Civilization" held in Lanzhou, Gansu Province in August 2001, each seminar has been followed by the hosting organization publishing a volume of the academic collection Journalism Annals. This volume is the fourth in order, titled Journalism Annals—Proceedings of the 2004 Annual Meeting of the Chinese Journalism History Society and the National Teaching and Academic Conference on the History of Journalism and Communication. The conference was held in Kaifeng, Henan Province in April 2004 and was organized by the School of Journalism and Communication at Henan University. This volume contains four research topics: the Chinese Journalism History Society, teaching of the history of journalism and communication, research on the history of journalism and communication, and Journalism Annals.
