Is the symptom of chronic prostatitis urgency?

Patient's question:

It's been a while, but since it wasn't too serious, I didn't pay much attention. Now, I'm urinating much more frequently, and there's a burning sensation when I urinate, which was only slightly before. Also, I can't hold my urine anymore; if I do, I get lower abdominal pain. Intimacy has also been unsatisfactory.

Doctor's answer:

(1) Dysuria may recur with urinary frequency and urethral burning, pain that can radiate to the head of the penis; a sticky discharge with mucus and pus from the urethral meatus in the morning, cloudy urine or white discharge after defecation; in severe cases, hematuria at the end of urination and difficulty urinating or urinary retention may occur.
(2) After local symptoms, discomfort, pressure, or a sense of fullness in the posterior urethra, perineum, and anus may occur, worsening when squatting or defecating.
(3) Reflex pain: The prostate and seminal vesicles are richly innervated by sympathetic nerves. When inflammation recurs, the tension within the glands decreases, stimulating the sympathetic nerves and causing referred lower back pain. The pain can radiate to the penis, testicles, scrotum, inguinal region, perineum, lower abdomen, thighs, buttocks, and rectum.
