Patient's question:
Recently, I've been experiencing pain in the urethra while urinating. After going to the hospital for a follow-up, they said it's non-bacterial prostatitis. Hello, is this condition serious? How can the treatment be effective?Doctor's answer:
1. Special Treatment: For patients with chronic prostatitis symptoms, if the causative pathogen cannot be identified through bacteriology, but there are large amounts of non-bacterial prostatitis inflammatory bacteria in their prostatic secretions, a definitive diagnosis of non-bacterial prostatitis can be made. Since it cannot be confirmed how mycoplasma and chlamydia cause prostatitis, antibiotics can be used for clinical trials targeting these pathogens. Doxycycline 100mg, oral, three times daily, or erythromycin 500mg, oral, four times daily, should be tested for at least the periphery. Since TMP and carbenicillin are ineffective, it is unreasonable to use antibiotics empirically.
