Patient's question:
I have a problem with prostatitis, which is severe urinary frequency. Sometimes I feel dampness in my scrotum, and my urine streams split. Recently, I've noticed pain in my penis during erection. At first, I thought it was normal, but it has happened several times in a row. I'm wondering if this is related to prostatitis?Doctor's answer:
Localized pain, such as lower back pain, or pain in the penis, testicles, scrotum, groin, perineum, lower abdomen, thighs, buttocks, or rectum, are all symptoms of chronic prostatitis. In addition to the symptoms listed below, chronic prostatitis may also present with:(1) Sexual dysfunction, primarily reduced libido and premature ejaculation. Young unmarried individuals may exhibit nocturnal emissions, neurasthenia, and depression.
(2) Urinary abnormalities, which can include frequent urination and urethral burning pain. In the morning, the urethral opening may discharge mucus, mucus threads, or pus, with cloudy urine or white discharge after a bowel movement. In severe cases, terminal hematuria and urinary difficulties may occur.
